Coach Luke Lamb

Assistant Instructor | Purple Belt

Coach Luke Lamb grew up in western New York. He spent most of his time hiking, backpacking, mountain biking, and wrestling. His wrestling career began at age 8. After 12 years of competing, he left the sport and moved to Missouri for a girl. She would become his beautiful, loving wife and mother of their four amazing children.

He loved to compete and turned to endurance sports such as Adventure Racing, gravel and mountain bike racing, trail running, and canoeing. Coach Luke finished many difficult events such as: The Berryman 36-hour Adventure Race, the Dirty Kanza 200-mile gravel road bike race, and the Missouri River 340-mile canoe race, to name a few.

Coach Luke’s love for grappling never died. When Gracie Barra Jefferson City opened, he jumped at the chance to get back on the mats. He truly missed training with like-minded friends who have since become more like brothers and sisters. He believes Jiu-Jitsu has made him a better husband, father, brother, and friend.

Coach Luke is a Certified Functional Strength Coach, Certified Personal Trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, Functional Movement Screen Level 2 certified coach, TRX certified coach, Certified Online Trainer, and Precision Nutrition certified coach. He works at the Jefferson City Area YMCA as a Health and Fitness Specialist. He loves helping individuals, groups, athletes, cancer survivors, active older adults, and everyone in between to improve their lives.
